Who we are

Attachment Shift is operated by Three Teeth, Inc., located at 23011 Moulton Pkwy, Suite C12, Laguna Hills, CA. You can reach us at hello@attachmentshift.com.

Information we collect

Attachment Shift collects minimal information to provide its services:

• Email address. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address to send you healing resources and updates. This is entirely voluntary.
• Contact form submissions. If you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, topic selection, and message so we can respond to your inquiry.
• Quiz responses.Your attachment style quiz answers are processed in your browser to generate results. They are not sent to our servers or stored in any database. If you opt in to receive personalized content, your attachment style result (e.g., “anxious-preoccupied”) may be stored alongside your email address.
• Local progress data.Your journey progress, no-contact timer, Sedona release journal, and tool state are stored in your browser’s localStorage. This data never leaves your device.
• Anonymous usage events.We collect server-side analytics events to understand how our tools are used and to improve the experience. Each event includes an anonymous session identifier (not linked to your identity), the event type (e.g., “tool_opened”), optional event properties, a timestamp, and your IP address. IP addresses are used solely for rate limiting and abuse prevention. See “Data retention” below for how long this data is kept.
• Analytics data.We use privacy-focused analytics to understand which pages are visited and how the site is used. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual users. See “Cookies and tracking” below for details.

How we use your information

We use your email address to send you the content you signed up for — welcome emails, healing resources, and occasional updates about Attachment Shift.

Attachment Shiftis part of the Modern Labyrinth network of personal-growth products (including InnerSignal, PeerSift, and StellaShift). From time to time we may send you a brief introduction to a related product in the network that we believe may support your journey. These cross-product emails will be clearly identified, infrequent, and you can opt out of them at any time using the preference link included in every such email — without affecting the emails you originally subscribed to.

Your email address is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties. Cross-product introductions are sent by us, within our own network, and no personal data is disclosed to outside organizations in the process.

AI-powered features

Attachment Shiftoffers an optional Rumination Interceptor tool that uses artificial intelligence to classify whether a thought you enter is rumination or problem-solving. When you use this tool, the text you type is sent to OpenAI’s API for analysis. OpenAI processes the text to generate a classification and a brief explanation, then discards it.

We do notstore the thoughts you submit to the Rumination Interceptor. The text is sent directly to OpenAI for processing and is not saved in our databases. Your IP address is used only for rate limiting. OpenAI’s handling of data is governed by their privacy policy. As of this writing, OpenAI does not use API inputs for model training.

Data storage and security

Email addresses are stored securely in Amazon DynamoDB with encryption at rest. We use Amazon SES (Simple Email Service) to send emails. Both services are provided by Amazon Web Services and comply with industry-standard security practices.

Data retention

We retain different categories of data for different periods:

• Newsletter subscriber data (email address, subscription source, attachment style result) is retained until you unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, your record is marked inactive and permanently deleted within 90 days.
• Anonymous usage events (session ID, event type, properties, IP address) are retained for 90 days and then automatically deleted.
• Contact form submissions (name, email, topic, message) are retained for 90 days after submission and then automatically deleted.
• Local data (journey progress, timer, journal entries) is stored in your browser and persists until you clear it. We never have access to this data.

Cookies and tracking

Attachment Shift does not use third-party advertising trackers or sell data to advertisers.

When you first visit our site, a cookie consent banner asks whether you accept or decline non-essential cookies. Google Analytics is not loaded until you explicitly grant consent. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google. Your consent choice is stored in your browser’s localStorage so we don’t ask again on every visit.

We use Google Analytics 4to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are popular, where visitors come from, and how long they stay. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish unique visitors. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by declining cookies in our consent banner.

The only other client-side storage we use is localStorage for saving your journey progress, tool data, and cookie consent preference, which stays entirely on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services in limited capacities:

• Amazon Web Services— for email delivery (SES) and subscriber data storage (DynamoDB)
• Vercel— for website hosting and deployment
• Google Analytics— for aggregated, privacy-respecting usage analytics (loaded only after you grant cookie consent)
• OpenAI— for AI-powered thought classification in the Rumination Interceptor tool (optional; text is processed and not stored)

Affiliate links

Some links on our Resources page are affiliate links. When you click these links, the affiliate partner (e.g., Amazon) may use their own cookies to track your purchase. This is governed by their own privacy policies, not ours. For more information, see our Affiliate Disclosure.

We do not sell your data

We will never sell, rent, or share your email address or any other personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. The only cross-product communications you may receive are from within the Modern Labyrinth network, sent directly by us — never by an outside party. Period.

Unsubscribing

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking it immediately removes your email from our subscriber list. You can also email us directly at hello@attachmentshift.com to request removal.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information:

For all users

• Access. You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Deletion. You can request that we delete your personal data. For newsletter subscribers, clicking unsubscribe removes you from our mailing list. For full deletion of all associated records, email us at hello@attachmentshift.com.
• Correction. You can request that we correct inaccurate personal data.

For California residents (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose (detailed above).
• Request deletion of your personal information.
• Opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
• Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

For EEA/UK residents (GDPR)

Our legal basis for processing your data is consent (for newsletter subscriptions and cookie analytics) and legitimate interest (for anonymous usage events and abuse prevention). You have the right to withdraw consent at any time, request data portability, restrict processing, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children’s privacy

Attachment Shift is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their email address, please contact us at hello@attachmentshift.com and we will promptly remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page and note the date of the last revision below.
